This policy explains how EllaDx, Inc. (“EllaDx,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and what choices you have. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device to remember information between page loads or visits. Cookies can be set by us (first-party cookies) or by third parties whose code runs on our pages (third-party cookies). We also use a small amount of browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) for functionality that needs to persist across the current visit or between visits — these are not technically cookies but are covered by this policy because they serve a similar purpose.
Why we use them
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in to your account.
- Remember the contents of your cart between page loads.
- Remember the answers you provided to the symptom quiz so we can build your custom panel on the next page.
- Protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) and rate limit anonymous endpoints.
- Measure aggregate usage of the Service so we can improve it.
Categories of cookies and storage
3.1 Strictly necessary
Required for the Service to function. You cannot opt out of these without breaking the site.
- Authentication cookies — set by Supabase to keep you signed in to your account.
- Cart state — stored in browser localStorage under the key
elladx_cart_v1so the items you add to your cart survive a page refresh. - Quiz state — stored in browser sessionStorage under the key
elladx_quizso the quiz-results page can rebuild your custom panel. Cleared when you close the browser tab. - Custom-panel slugs — stored in localStorage under
elladx_custom_panel_slugsduring checkout so the order can be placed against the correct biomarker list. - Quiz-popup dismissal — stored in localStorage under
elladx-quiz-popup-dismissed-atfor seven days so we don't prompt you again right after you dismissed it.
3.2 Analytics
Help us understand aggregate usage. We use these to improve the Service and identify which features users actually reach.
- Google Analytics 4 / Google Tag Manager — cookies prefixed with
_gaand_gid. Used to measure aggregate site usage. We have configured these without advertising features and we do not use Google Analytics for cross-site advertising.
3.3 Third-party embeds
When pages embed third-party content, that third party may set its own cookies subject to its own privacy policy:
- Cloudflare Stream — the homepage background video is served by Cloudflare, which may set anti-fraud cookies.
- Stripe — checkout pages embed Stripe Elements, which sets cookies used for fraud prevention. See Stripe's privacy notice for details.
What we don't do
- We do not use cookies to deliver targeted advertising across other websites.
- We do not sell or share cookie data with advertisers.
- We do not store Protected Health Information in cookies or browser storage. Quiz answers persisted in sessionStorage during a single session are cleared when you close the browser tab; the authoritative copy lives in our HIPAA-covered database (see HIPAA Notice).
Your choices
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through settings. Disabling strictly-necessary cookies will break core functionality (signing in, placing an order). Disabling analytics cookies is fine; the Service will function identically.
To opt out of Google Analytics measurement specifically, install the official Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
You can clear localStorage and sessionStorage for our domain at any time through your browser's site-data settings. Doing so will sign you out and clear any unsaved cart or quiz state.
Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal to websites. There is no industry-wide consensus on how websites should respond to DNT signals. Today we do not alter our behavior in response to DNT — disable analytics cookies through your browser settings if you want to opt out.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we add or remove a third-party tool. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the current version. Material changes will be announced as described in our Privacy Policy.
